Customer Groups

What Are Groups? #

In B2BKing, customers can be organized into groups. You can create multiple groups and then assign each customer to a specific group.

For each group, you can control aspects such as available payment or shipping methods, product (catalog) visibility, product pricing, discounts, minimum orders, and more. Groups provide a simple and flexible way to create a different experience for different B2B customers.

The main groups panel is accessed via B2BKing -> Groups:

Here you can find the following:

(A) Two default B2C groups:

  • Logged-Out Users
  • B2C Users (Logged In)

(B) Business (B2B) groups

The B2B groups option allows you to edit and create an unlimited number of groups.

When you open each group, you can see the following panel, which allows you to control shipping and payment methods for that group:

What Can Be Done Through Groups? #

You can control a large number of options based on groups, such as:

  • Available shipping methods
  • Available payment methods
  • Minimum order amount
  • Maximum order amount
  • Specific pricing for a category or product
  • Hidden pricing for a category or product
  • Tax exemptions
  • Fees
  • Discounts
  • Required multiples (box quantities)
  • Free shipping
  • Offers made available to specific groups
  • Product/category visibility set for specific groups
  • And much more

B2BKing provides these and many other features that are deeply integrated with groups.

Example

Here is an example of how you can set a specific product's visibility based on groups:

Example 2

Here we configure a discount rule that provides a 5% discount on a specific product if the user orders at least 100 units and at least $1,000 in value, for the "Factories" group. This can be done through dynamic rules, as shown in the following image:

Group Integration with Registration #

Another important aspect of how groups work within B2BKing is registration. When customers register and choose a specific registration role, they can be automatically assigned to a group.

For example, in the following image, the "Walmart Employees" registration role is automatically assigned to the "Walmart" group.

Here is what this looks like in the registration panel:

B2BKing introduces registration roles and custom registration fields assigned to each role. For more information, see the dedicated "Registration" documentation article.

Groups are also fundamental to how manual user approval works. When manually approving a user, you can choose which group to assign them to, as shown in the following image:

Approving the user and assigning them to the "Small Businesses" group

As you can see, groups are deeply integrated within B2BKing at all levels and provide an easy way to control the experience of your B2B customers.
